Research description

5-Amino-1MQ (5-amino-1-methylquinolinium) is a small aromatic cation built on a quinolinium ring with an amino group at position 5 and a methyl group on the ring nitrogen. It is a synthetic small molecule, not a peptide.

It is studied in laboratory research as an inhibitor of the enzyme nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), in enzyme assays and cell-culture models of cellular metabolism and NAD+ salvage.
