Research description

BPC 157 (Body Protection Compound 157, also PL 14736) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide, a chain of 15 amino acids. Its sequence is derived from a protein fragment that was isolated from gastric juice.

It is studied in laboratory research on angiogenesis, cell migration, the nitric-oxide system and growth-factor signalling in cell-culture and tissue models.
