Research description
DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide) is a nonapeptide, a chain of nine amino acids (Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu), first isolated in the 1970s from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits.
It is studied in laboratory research on neuropeptide signalling and on the regulation of sleep–wake rhythms in cell and tissue models.
