Research description

Follistatin 344 is a recombinant form of follistatin, a glycoprotein that binds members of the TGF-β superfamily. The name refers to the 344-amino-acid precursor; after removal of the signal peptide the protein (FST-315 isoform) circulates in a soluble form.

It is studied in laboratory research as a binding protein of activin and myostatin (GDF-8), in assays and cell-culture models of TGF-β signalling.
