Research description

Glutathione (GSH) is a tripeptide of glutamate, cysteine and glycine in which the glutamate is linked through its side-chain (γ) carboxyl group. It is supplied in its reduced form.

It is the main low-molecular-weight thiol of most cells and is used in laboratory research on redox biology, oxidative stress and detoxification enzymes, and as a reducing agent in biochemical assays and cell culture.
