Research description
IGF-1 LR3 (Long R3 IGF-1) is a recombinant analogue of insulin-like growth factor 1, 83 amino acids long: the 70 amino acids of IGF-1 with arginine instead of glutamate at position 3 and a 13-amino-acid N-terminal extension. These changes greatly reduce its binding to IGF-binding proteins.
It is widely used in cell culture as a growth-factor supplement and in laboratory research on the IGF-1 receptor and its signalling pathways.
