Research description

Liraglutide is a synthetic analogue of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1 7–37) with one amino-acid substitution and a palmitic-acid side chain attached through a glutamate spacer. The fatty acid binds albumin and extends its half-life in experimental systems.

It is studied in laboratory research on the GLP-1 receptor and incretin signalling in cell and tissue models.
