Research description

LL-37 is a 37-amino-acid peptide and the only human member of the cathelicidin family of antimicrobial peptides. It is released from its precursor protein, hCAP18, and forms an amphipathic α-helix.

It is studied in laboratory research on antimicrobial peptides, membrane interactions, biofilms and innate immune signalling in microbiological and cell-culture models.
