Research description
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, oxidised form) is a coenzyme made of two nucleotides joined through their phosphate groups. It is a small molecule, not a peptide.
It is used in laboratory research as an electron carrier in redox reactions and as a substrate of sirtuins, PARP enzymes and CD38, in enzyme assays and cell-culture models of energy metabolism.
