Research description
Oxytocin is a nonapeptide hormone (Cys-Tyr-Ile-Gln-Asn-Cys-Pro-Leu-Gly-NH2) with a disulfide bridge between the two cysteines, produced in the hypothalamus. It is supplied as the acetate salt.
It is studied in laboratory research on the oxytocin receptor and its signalling in smooth-muscle, neuronal and other cell and tissue models.
