Research description

Somatropin is recombinant human growth hormone (HGH), a single-chain protein of 191 amino acids with two disulfide bridges, identical in sequence to the pituitary hormone. Its amount is stated in international units (IU).

It is used in laboratory research on the growth-hormone receptor, JAK2–STAT5 signalling and IGF-1 regulation in cell-culture and tissue models, and as a reference material in immunoassays.
