Research description
Thymosin Alpha-1 (thymalfasin, Tα1) is an N-terminally acetylated peptide of 28 amino acids, originally isolated from the thymus as a fragment of the protein prothymosin α. It is made synthetically.
It is studied in laboratory research on thymic peptides, Toll-like receptor signalling and the maturation of T cells and dendritic cells in immune-cell culture models.
