Research description
Tirzepatide is a synthetic peptide of 39 amino acids based on the sequence of glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), with a C20 fatty-diacid side chain. It is designed to act on two receptors: the GIP receptor and the GLP-1 receptor.
It is studied in laboratory research on dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonism and incretin signalling in cell and tissue models.
