Research description

Vitamin B12 is supplied as cyanocobalamin, a cobalt-containing corrinoid compound and the most stable form of the vitamin. It is a small molecule, not a peptide; it is supplied in solution.

It is used in laboratory research as a cofactor of the enzymes methionine synthase and methylmalonyl-CoA mutase, and as a component of cell-culture media.
